Cleaning Low Permeation Hose Assemblies

It’s time for Spring Cleaning, and if cleaning the Franklin Fueling Systems’ HEALY™ ¾” low permeation coaxial vapor recovery hose assemblies is on your list, we have some recommendations.

Franklin Fueling Systems’ HEALY™ ¾” low permeation coaxial vapor recovery hose is designed for use in refueling applications that require a reduced permeation rate of 10 g/m2 per day to improve emissions and air quality. If you need to clean this kind of hose, use the following instructions:

IMPORTANT: Do not use harsh solvents to clean your hose assembly. For example, solvents that contain xylenesulfonic acid could be damaging. (Cleaning products you should avoid include MULTISHEEN RTU™ Glass Cleaner and INSIDE OUT™ Heavy Duty Degreaser.)

  1. Make a soap and water solution. Add two tablespoons of a mild dish soap to a gallon of clean water.
  2. Use the soap solution and a clean rag to wipe down the hose assembly.
  3. Rinse the rag in clean water, and then wipe the hose assembly again to remove any  residue.
